How to Get a Library Card

The Crab Orchard Public Library district covers the eastern third of Williamson County including the communities of Crab Orchard, Pittsburg, and Creal Springs.

How much does a library card cost?

Residents of the library district pay for library services through property taxes and do not pay a fee to get a card.

Out of district patrons do not receive tax supported library services from Crab Orchard Public Library District.  Out of district patrons pay a $65 per year fee in lieu of taxes.    If you are unsure if you reside in district, you may view your property tax bill HERE.

How can I get a library card?

To obtain a library card if you live in the library’s district:
Residents should bring a valid driver’s license or state identification card with your current address.  If your identification does not have your current address, bring your identification along with a document displaying your current address such as a utility bill, real estate tax bill, or voter registration card along with a government issued photo id.  Resident library cards are valid for three years.

To obtain a library card if you live out the library’s district:
Non-residents of the library’s district will need to pay a $65 yearly fee which covers library cards for every family member residing at the address.  To obtain a library card, bring a valid driver’s license or state identification card with their current address.  If your identification does not have your current address, bring your identification along with a document displaying your current address such as a utility bill, real estate tax bill, or voter registration card along with a government issued photo id.
